Business expansion

Is your business already established and running well? Is it time to branch out in a new direction or perhaps simply to make it grow?

Well, of course there is nothing simple about it! The growth of a business needs to be balanced and done in a practical way. If not you may end up with too many sales for you to service or too many staff and the work has not materialised.

Either way you are looking unprofessional and losing money.
How much money do you need for the expansion? Supposing you borrow from the bank and then find you have not borrowed enough. Going back a month later for more makes it look as if you don’t know what you are doing.

It comes back to many of the principles you needed to get right when the business started. The planning process allows you to gauge the resources needed, and decide just how it is supposed to work. If it doesn’t look right we will be drawing that to your attention. You will have the chance to redraw it until it does look right.

With the planned expansion comes the need for Marketing, Business Plans and the need for Finance. See our pages under these headings.

Past cases

A Fabrication company needed machinery to expand their capability and to speed up their process. Bob Shepherd Associates put together a business presentation to apply for a Grant to support the purchase of this machinery releasing valuable funds for working capital to make best use of the new machines.

A granite surface company produced work tops and other surfaces but needed to keep up with a change in the market demand for curved round edges. An  investment in a new machine was needed for which a substantial grant was available. A business presentation was done by Bob Shepherd Associates to support the successful grant application.
